![]() ![]() ![]() Scrabble is still the winner, but only because it is the least worst option for word games. It works fine without the ad removal and does not need a social account to sign in, which is miles better than the situation of at words with friends. While not ideal, it is the lesser of two bloated apps. floatrightImageID6203171/floatrightLast year I was asked to create an official app for BoardGameGeek - for iOS at first - and Im happy to announce it is now. When compared to the other offerings from Words with friends, I assure you, Scrabble is the better choice. If you've been playing for a while, demolishing newbies isn't that much fun. When I started playing Scrabble Go I was matched mostly with newbies that are terrible. Itwas intended for Chess but it still seems to fit well for Scrabble. ELO is a system that gives an indication of your skill level relative to the people you have been playing. My other issue is that the ELO scores are gone. The monthly fee to get rid of the ads is totally insane. There are also some dubious features, looks like you can pay for cheats, tons of ads, and a bunch of things that must be of interest to children like prize cards and "premium" tiles. Scrabble Go does have some nice additions over classic Scrabble such as indicating you have a valid play as you place tiles on the board, interesting stats, duels, and tournaments. It was replaced by Scrabble Go which is free for feature-limited ad infested bloatware or $4.99/MONTH to remove the ads. Recently this was discontinued and the network features kind of broken. It was a bit buggy but pretty good as you could play Facebook people or people on whatever network EA has. Some years ago, a free ad-supported version came out. When I bought it there was only one version with no ads and it was around $5. Scrabble developed by EA was sold for years and was pretty good. Candy Match 3 is an entertaining matching game where players have to match at last three same colors of jelly candy on screen and clear the candies in. It's funny you write that Scrabble takes the crown as others become bloatware just as Scrabble has become advertising bloatware. ![]()
